Watonga Eagle Staff, Family, and Friends,
I hope you have had a great summer break! We are excited to get our kids back into the classroom and are looking forward to continuing their learning here at Watonga Public Schools. We believe that ALL of our students are important, and we will work hard to ensure that their needs are met. WE must work together to stay focused on our fundamental purpose for being in education which is student academic achievement. I believe we do this by staying positive and working together. This is OUR school district and we are much stronger together than we are apart! The leadership in our school district is here to support you in whatever ways necessary. If everyone does their part, then students will learn, extracurricular activities will be successful, and our community will reap the benefits along with our students.
As you may have noticed, we are still in the process of completing our Watonga Bond Project 2022. The elementary cafeteria should be completed by the end of the first nine weeks (weather permitting). We will then begin the process of remodeling and installation of our new STEM lab at WES after the new cafeteria is built. Also, the construction of the new gym and endzone facilities have begun. The slabs of both buildings have been poured. This process will continue throughout the year. That being said, we ask you to be patient with parking during school hours and for events that take place at the football field and field house during this time. We will communicate any updates throughout the year. Please know the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community members will be of utmost importance during this time.
I am looking forward to working with all of you this year! Let’s make it a great one! Go Eagles!
Kyle S. Hilterbran, Superintendent
